COCL Diocesan Liaison
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and I still bleed black and gold. I graduated from Hobart College, and Yale Divinity School, and was ordained in 1979. I served as an associate rector in a parish in Pittsburgh for three years, then on to be the Canon for Pastoral Development in the Diocese of Western Michigan until 1986. I served as rector of the Church of Our Saviour in Silver Spring, Maryland (a suburb of Washington D.C.) for eleven years, and then as Rector of St. Paul’s, Oakwood here in Southern Ohio for 14 years. Bishop Breidenthal invited me to become the Canon to the Ordinary in 2011.
My wife, Nanci, and I have been married 35 years, and we have two grown daughters – one who lives in Washington DC and the other in Dayton. In my spare time I enjoy playing golf, sailing, and cooking.
