Jon is a native of Wyoming, OH. He graduated from Wyoming High School in 1954 and has not forgotten his roots.
Jon graduated from Denison University in 1958. The United States Marine Corp then commissioned him as a 2nd Lieutenant. He subsequently earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and joined the Kroger Company in 1963. He spent the next 23 years as an executive with Kroger. He was instrumental in enabling Kroger to capture and analyze vital customer sales information while creating powerful in-store marketing resources. Following his retirement, John went on to act as the Diocese of Southern Ohio’s Director of Administration. He presently remains very active at Ascension and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, serving on the Commission on Congregational Life, and involved in other diocesan committees and convention.
Jon has served as a trustee of the Wyoming High School Alumni Association and the Diocese of Southern Ohio’s endowed funds alike. Jon has also served as the City of Wyoming’s Chair of the City’s Planning Commission. He is a member and officer of its Economic Development Commission and Community Improvement Corporation. He brings a wealth of financial, organization, analytical, and relational skills to his work with his diocesan connections on the CoCL and other organizational activities.
Jon He especially enjoys spending time with his five great grandchildren. If he’s not walking one of them to school or entertaining somebody at home you’ll probably find him spending time with Jeanne, his spouse of 53 years or catching up with one of his four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
